General election latest: Labour extends poll lead to 26 points ahead of Tory manifesto launch

Labour has extended its poll lead over the Tories to 26 points, a new survey has found, as Rishi Sunak prepares to launch the Conservative Party’s general election manifesto.

A new Redfield & Wilton Strategies survey, conducted between June 7-10, puts Labour on 45 per cent of the vote and the Tories in second place on 19 per cent.

Support for the Tories was unchanged when compared to the company’s previous poll conducted between June 5-6 but Labour was up by three per cent.

The Tories remained just two points ahead of Nigel Farage’s Reform UK in third place on 17 per cent.

The publication of the survey came ahead of the launch of the Tory manifesto later this morning.

Mr Sunak will be hoping his party’s policy proposals will help to get the Conservative campaign back on track after a torrid few days for the Prime Minister in the wake of a row over his decision to leave D-Day commemorations early.
