Good evening. Asylum seekers have been removed from the Bibby Stockholm barge in Dorset after Legionella bacteria was found in the water.
Elsewhere, we have the latest on Harry Kane’s future.
Legionella bacteria, commonly found in water, can cause a serious type of pneumonia known as Legionnaires’ disease. The Home Office said all 39 asylum seekers on the Bibby Stockholm had been taken off “as a precautionary measure”, but none are ill. The testing for Legionella bacteria was done before asylum seekers went aboard, but the results – showing levels of Legionella bacteria that required further investigation – only came back this week, according to Home Office sources. Charles Hymas and Max Stephens explain where the bacteria is believed to have come from.
