Alain Robert, dubbed the “French Spiderman”, has free-climbed a 48-storey Parisian skyscraper to appeal for peace in the Middle East.

The 61-year-old was pictured scaling Tour Total, in the French capital’s La Défense neighbourhood, on Monday morning as the Israel-Hamas conflict continues to escalate.

The stunt came just weeks after Mr Robert scaled Tour Hekla, another skyscraper in the business district situated less than a mile away from his latest conquest.

He took to Instagram the following day, on Oct 23, to call for “urgent peace [talks] between Israel and Gaza”.

Mr Robert climbs without a harness, using only his bare hands and a pair of climbing shoes.

He has scaled more than 150 towering structures worldwide, including Dubai’s Burj Khalifa – the world’s tallest building – the Eiffel Tower, and San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge.
