Three people have been killed in an explosion at a police training facility in Los Angeles.

The incident happened at Biscailuz Center Academy Training at approximately 7.25am local time (12.30pm UK), the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department confirmed.

Three bomb squad officers were killed in the incident, local media reported. The LAPD said they were not able to confirm any deaths or injuries.

The cause of the blast is under investigation. The Los Angeles Times reported that a bomb squad was moving some explosives when the blast occurred.
