Household energy bills will fall by an average of £238 a year from April under the latest limits imposed on suppliers by regulators.
Ofgem has revealed that its price cap will fall from its current rate of £1,928 a year for a typical dual-fuel household to £1,690 from April 1.
The changes will reduce typical energy bills by 12pc to their lowest level in two years.
In 2022, it rose from £1,215 a year in January to £1,877 in April following the energy shock triggered by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
In October, of that year it rose again to £3,371 and peaked at £4,279 in January 2023, although households were shielded from the full increases by the Government’s subsidies which capped bills at £2,500 a year.
