British anglers have accused the Environment Agency (EA) of giving David Lammy special treatment after he went fishing without a licence.
The Foreign Secretary and JD Vance went fishing at Chevening, Kent, last weekend as part of the US vice-president’s visit to the UK.
However, it soon emerged that they had done so without a Rod Licence, and the Environment Agency said Mr Lammy had purchased one retroactively.
But British anglers have claimed the government frontbencher was given preferential treatment, saying he “should have bought a Rod Licence prior to going fishing, the same as everybody else”.
