The suspect in the assassination of Charlie Kirk has been identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, a scholarship student at Utah State University.
Mr Robinson was arrested on Thursday after his father told him to turn himself in, Donald Trump said.
It brought an end to the two-day manhunt for the shooter who killed the Maga influencer with a single bullet to the neck while he was addressing a crowd of 3,000 people at Utah Valley University.
News of the arrest was announced by Mr Trump on Friday during a live interview on Fox and Friends.
“I think we have him,” the US president said.
Mr Trump said Mr Robinson’s father, Matt Robinson, contacted the FBI after the agency released two photos of a “person of interest.”
