The man charged with Charlie Kirk’s murder refused to show his face during his latest court appearance.
Tyler Robinson, 22, attended via videolink from Utah County Jail, but his image was not shown on the screen and he did not speak.
He was shielded from the public at the request of his legal team, The Telegraph was told. Mr Robinson’s lawyers have not specified the reason for their request.
The student was named as Kirk’s alleged assassin after the Republican influencer was shot in the neck during a campus university event in Utah.
Right-wing figures, including Donald Trump, have called for Mr Robinson to be executed over the shooting and vowed to crack down on “radical Left” violence.
“I hope he’s [Mr Robinson] going to be found guilty, and I hope he gets the death penalty,” Mr Trump said on Fox & Friends earlier this month. “What he did – Charlie Kirk was the finest person and he didn’t deserve this.”
