Brompton e-bike customers faced delays because its parts are being used to make drones for Ukraine.
An electronic device contained in the £3,499 “G Line” e-bike is now being used for the drones to help Ukraine’s war effort.
The part in question acts as the bike’s controller which communicates with its motor, which enables it to be electronically pedalled.
However, the noble effort has meant that cyclists are having to wait months to get the new bike, the Evening Standard reported.
Will Butler-Adams, chief executive of Brompton, explained what was being sent to Ukraine while discussing a story revealed by The Telegraph last week on the British Army making First Person View drone racing an official sport for the first time.
