A British woman who died in a fire on a boat off the coast of Egypt over the weekend has been named.

Christina Quinn, 58, was the chief executive of St Luke’s Hospice in Plymouth.

She was one of three British citizens killed in a blaze on the vessel Hurricane, off the Red Sea coast.

The boat was carrying 15 British tourists, alongside crew members and guides, but it is believed the other 12 Britons were at a diving briefing in another part of the vessel when the fire broke out.

A spokesperson for Christina’s family said she will be missed “beyond words”.

“It is with great sadness that we confirm the tragic death of Christina Quinn in Egypt,” they said.

“She was a sister, daughter, wife, aunty, friend, and rock to many. She will be missed beyond words. We would ask for privacy at this time.”
