A British woman arrested in Spain this week alongside her partner in connection with the shooting of a Right-wing politician has been named.
According to Spanish television station TeleCinco, Sasha Brooks, believed to be in her mid-20s, was arrested on Tuesday with boyfriend Naraya Gómez, a Spanish citizen, and both are being held by Spanish police.
The pair are suspects in an apparent assassination attempt against Alejo Vidal-Quadras, who was shot in the face in Madrid on Nov 9.
The 78-year-old former vice-president of the European Parliament and co-founder of the far-Right Vox party is recovering in hospital after surgery on a smashed jaw.
Mr Vidal-Quadras has blamed Iran for trying to kill him over his political campaigning against the Tehran regime and support for an exiled opposition group.
