I have spent over 40 years starting and growing dozens of businesses in Britain, and the mood among entrepreneurs is the bleakest I can ever remember. Quite a few are expecting a recession this year. Meanwhile they look with envy at the US, with its optimistic, pro-business new government, compared to Starmer’s socialist regime here. No wonder many are packing their bags and saying farewell.
The solutions are available. We are a sovereign nation, not bound by EU rules. We can set our own laws and tax levels. We need to produce more and consume less, address the twin deficits of trade and government spending, and learn to live within our means. And we can do this because of Brexit: because we are free of EU control.
As a businessman, this is how I would save Brexit by growing our economy.
