A man armed with a gun has been arrested after driving through a police barricade at the scene of the Michigan Mormon church shooting.
The driver, who has not been identified, sped by police who were manning a cordon at the Grand Blanc Township church, where four worshippers were killed by a gunman on Sunday.
The vehicle stopped after passing the cordon and the driver exited the car before being handcuffed by police, a video of the incident shows. A search of the car reportedly revealed a gun in the passenger seat.
Chief William Renye, the chief of Grand Blanc Township Police, said a 21-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident.
“We are still in the process of investigating that incident, whether or not it’s related or not. I could tell you that we do have a 21 year old person in custody for that incident right now,” he said.
