Alec Baldwin has been indicted by a grand jury on new charges of involuntary manslaughter stemming from the shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the Western ‘Rust’.
Baldwin, the lead actor and a co-producer on the Western movie “Rust,” was pointing a gun at Hutchins during a rehearsal in October 2021 when the gun went off, killing her and wounding director Joel Souza.
Prosecutors had dismissed previous charges against the actor in April.
Friday’s indictment followed an independent forensic test that concluded that Baldwin had to have pulled the trigger of a revolver he was using in a rehearsal for it to have fired the live round that killed Hutchins.
The finding was the same as a previous FBI test on the firearm.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
