Sen. Joe Manchin (D., W.Va.) announced last week that he won’t run for reelection in 2024, all but assuring that a Republican will take his place. He is said to be considering an independent run for president.

Despite his many flaws, Manchin might go down in history as the last semi-respectable Democrat to ever serve in the United States Senate. For example, he routinely aggravated members of his own party by refusing to endorse their far-left extremist policies on issues such as abortion, gun control, and climate change.

When a bunch of environmentalist freaks tried to block the senator’s Maserati SUV from exiting a parking garage in 2021, Manchin swatted them away like hippie scum.
