NextImg:'Insurrection': Trans lawmaker leads supporters in disrupting legislature

A transgender lawmaker, a man dressing as a woman, in Montana recently was ordered silenced by his fellow lawmakers after verbally assaulting Republican members by charging they have “blood on their hands” if they oppose body mutilating surgeries for children.

Now a report in the Daily Mail pointed out that the lawmaker, Zooey Zephyr, tried to ignore that order and speak on the issue on Monday.

And when his microphone was turned off, he took a path often used by Democrat activists these days: he let his supporters disrupt the legislative body with chants of “Let her speak!”

The Daily Mail said Zephyr and his supporters blocked legislative action for nearly half an hour “in protest of Republican lawmakers denying her requests to speak on a proposal that would restrict when children can change the names and pronouns they use in school and require parental consent.”

Seven of Zephyr’s supporters were arrested, booked and released.

WND reported when he first unleashed hate speech against fellow legislators, hoping they would see “blood on their hands” when they pray.

The result was an order that he not speak on legislative issues until an apology is delivered.

The Gateway Pundit reported the discipline for Zephyr follows a call in the legislature for his censure.

The Gateway Pundit reported, “The lawmaker had claimed that Republicans would have ‘blood on their hands’ if they supported a bill to ban sex change surgeries and potentially-sterilizing hormone treatments for minors.”

Zephyr said, “This body should be ashamed. If you vote yes on this bill and yes on these amendments, I hope the next time there’s an invocation, when you bow your heads in prayer, you see the blood on your hands.”

Now Montana House Speaker Matt Regier has confirmed there are plans to “not recognize” Zephyr to speak on any bill until an apology is made for the lack of decorum, the report explained.

The Freedom Caucus said the comments were inappropriate and called for a censure for “attempting to shame the Montana legislative body and by using inappropriate and uncalled-for language.”

The Daily Mail reported law enforcement had to clear the Montana House gallery because of the “insurrection” by supporters of Zephyr, a Democrat from Missoula.

Republican lawmakers called the interruption both an “insurrection” and a “riot.”

Zephyr later described her supporters’ decision to interrupt the legislature and block the democratic process of lawmaking as “defending democracy.”

Regier said, “Today’s riot by far-left agitators damages our discourse and endangered legislators and staff. Their actions did not represent Montana values.”

Montana, like other states, has been working recently to institute laws that would protect children from body mutilations that are involved in transgender treatments and surgeries.

Lawmakers also want to limit sports teams to those of the same sex, meaning boys who portray themselves as girls would not be allowed on girls teams.
