: Loretta Lynch, the former Obama attorney general, gave the keynote address Friday at the FIFA Women’s Football Convention in Australia.

• Before joining the Obama administration in 2015, Lynch took part in a federal investigation resulting in the indictment of more than a dozen senior FIFA officials and marketing executives on charges of racketeering, wire fraud, and money laundering.

• Lynch is best known for meeting secretly with Bill Clinton on a private jet in 2016 while she was overseeing the Justice Department’s investigation of Hillary Clinton’s private email server.

• After leaving the Obama administration, Lynch joined Paul Weiss, the corporate law firm that “currently advises FIFA in its dealings with the U.S. Department of Justice.”

• Lynch praised FIFA in 2020 for its “renewed commitment to transparency and ethical behavior.” (Fact check: FIFA was not committed to transparency and ethical behavior.)
