Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy will testify before a Senate Appropriations subcommittee on Thursday morning about the department’s fiscal 2026 budget request.
Duffy and President Trump have vowed a complete overhaul of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) following deadly crashes as well as recent delays and flight cancellations. An air traffic control outage at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey has also shined a spotlight on staffing shortages and the agency’s outdated technology.
The budget request includes increased funding to tackle these issues.
The Transportation chief also faced questioning from the House Appropriations Committee on Wednesday.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
