House Democratic leaders gave remarks Tuesday morning as controversy around disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein’s case rankles their GOP counterparts ahead of the August recess.
Democrats, along with many of President Trump’s allies, have pressed the Justice Department (DOJ) to provide more transparency around its probe of the Epstein sex trafficking case. The DOJ and FBI issued a joint memo earlier this month that concluded Epstein did not keep a “client list,” and that his 2019 death in prison was a suicide. Their report raised eyebrows, as it seemingly contradicted what Attorney General Pam Bondi said earlier this year.
Their remarks also came as Democrats continue to push back against the Trump administration’s robust immigration agenda.
The event was scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m. EDT.
