The stage at former President Trump’s campaign rally in Iowa on Tuesday evening featured Christmas-themed decorations — many of which included Trump’s now-infamous Georgia mug shot.
At least two different kinds of Christmas wrapping paper covered gifts onstage in Waterloo, Iowa. Both versions had patterns featuring Trump’s mug shot prominently. The mug shot on the wrapping was edited to include a Santa Claus hat on the former president’s head.
The mug shot was also featured on stockings that included a singular enlarged version of the mug shot. The stockings and gift wrapping both included the phrase, “Never surrender.”
Trump, the 2024 GOP presidential primary front-runner, was indicted four times this past year, and the indictment in Georgia was the only time his mug shot was taken.
The image instantly became a rallying cry among loyal Trump supporters, and Trump has campaigned off the historic moment in the months since the photo was taken.
Immediately after Trump was processed at the jail in the Fulton County, Ga., the Trump campaign announced it would sell merchandise — including T-shirts, mugs, can coolers and bumper stickers — featuring his mug shot and the phrase, “Never surrender.”
Recently, Trump announced he would be selling off pieces of the suit he wore when his mug shot was taken.
