


Former President Trump won Minnesota’s GOP primary Tuesday, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ, adding another state to his Super Tuesday dominance.
Trump’s win in Minnesota, which is typically a reliably blue state, strengthens his lead in the Republican primary against challenger Nikki Haley. It’s also a state that puts Biden’s issues with some Democrats over his handling of the war in Gaza on display.
The “Abandon Biden” organization, which has been advocating for protest votes in various states, has a presence in Minnesota and focused on the state after helping to garner 100,000 “uncommitted” votes in Michigan last week. Minnesota has a large Muslim population, and Muslim Americans face a tough choice in November between Biden, whom they are angry with for his pro-Israel stance, and Trump, who has vowed to expand his Muslim ban.
Efforts to keep Trump off the ballot under the 14th Amendment, which were brought by a nonprofit, reached the Minnesota Supreme Court in November, but the court dismissed the bid and kept Trump on the primary ballot.
Biden beat Trump in Minnesota in 2020 with nearly 53 percent of the vote.
