Former President Trump celebrated the Michigan Supreme Court rejecting an attempt to remove him from the state’s primary ballot, while taking the opportunity to swipe at Colorado’s high court for booting him off that state’s ballot.

“The Michigan Supreme Court has strongly and rightfully denied the Desperate Democrat attempt to take the leading Candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election, me, off the ballot in the Great State of Michigan,” Trump wrote Wednesday in a Truth Social post. “This pathetic gambit to rig the Election has failed all across the Country, including in States that have historically leaned heavily toward the Democrats.”

The Michigan Supreme Court handed down the ruling Wednesday, letting stand a state appeals court ruling that determined Michigan’s secretary of state lacks the legal authority to remove him from the ballot, regardless of the 14th Amendment.

Michigan’s high court, which is controlled by Democrats, said it was “not persuaded that the questions presented should be reviewed by this Court.”

The 14th Amendment’s insurrection clause, which states those who took oaths to support the Constitution cannot engage in a rebellion against it, stands at the center of several challenges to Trump’s eligibility to be on states’ primary ballots.

GOP lawmakers and figures have argued challenges to Trump’s ballot eligibility are an attempt by Democrats to prevent Trump from clinching the 2024 general election.

Trump on Wednesday said Colorado is the “only State to have fallen prey to the scheme.”

The Colorado Supreme Court last week ruled Trump engaged in an insurrection through his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack, deciding Trump aimed to incite political violence and rallied support toward the Capitol to disrupt the certification of 2020 election results.

The 4-3 bombshell ruling said the office of the presidency falls under the insurrection clause, overturning a lower court’s ruling.

Trump on Wednesday claimed the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling is being “ridiculed and mocked all over the World,” a likely reference to the slew of Republican lawmakers and some legal experts who slammed the decision.

“We have to prevent the 2024 Election from being Rigged and Stolen like they stole 2020 – just look at the complete mess we have as a result with Crooked Joe Biden violently destroying everything in his sight, from our once-great Economy to our once-fair Justice System. We have to save our Country from decline and the Radical Left,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump’s team vowed to appeal Colorado’s ruling to the U.S. Supreme Court. The ruling is temporarily on hold.
