President Trump has openly lobbied for the Nobel Peace Prize, and late-night TV host Seth Meyers says there’s a specific reason it may just be time to award it to him.

“Nobel Prize winners are set to be announced this week,” Meyers, a frequent Trump critic, said during his Tuesday monologue on NBC’s “Late Night.”

“Look, I know he doesn’t deserve it, but can you just give it to him?” Meyers asked.

“It’s all he wants,” he said with a grin, “and I honestly think he’ll spend the rest of his life admiring it in the mirror.”

“And we’ll just never see him again,” Meyers said. 

Trump said last month that it would be a “big insult” to the United States if he didn’t receive the Nobel Peace Prize for helping to bring an end to seven conflicts around the world.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee bestows the annual award on someone who has worked to establish peace between nations. 

A former aide in Trump’s first term told The Hill last month that the “pressure’s on” for the president to get the coveted honor.

Trump “sees this prize as the ultimate capstone to how history will remember him,” the former aide said.
