ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCN) — North Carolina authorities said last week they busted a father and son who were running a drug business out of an auto repair shop.
The six-month investigation focused on employees at a car repair shop at 625 S. Washington St., according to a Monday afternoon Rocky Mount Police Department news release.
Police raided the Alpha Automotive business on Friday, arrested three workers, and seized “significant quantities of narcotics and firearms,” an arrest warrant and news release said.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the business after “evidence gathered during the investigation,” the release said.

Officers said the owner of the business, Alex Burgess, 42, was arrested and charged with:
Police said Nyrek Burgess, 20, the son of Alex Burgess, was arrested and faces the same charges as his father, along with the following additional charges:
Officers also said Yasin Hall, 19, was arrested on the following charges:
The elder Burges was jailed on a $50,000 secured bond while his son was held on a $78,000 secured bond.
Hall was held under a $1,500 secured bond.
“This investigation demonstrates the department’s continued efforts to disrupt and dismantle criminal networks operating within the city,” officers said.
