NextImg:Loomer on Trump considering Maxwell pardon: ‘There will be no coming back from that’

Right-wing activist Laura Loomer, a longtime ally of President Trump, cautioned the Trump administration against issuing a pardon to Ghislaine Maxwell, the former associate of disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In a post on the social platform X, Loomer warned that there would be “no coming back” if the president issues a pardon.

“I strongly advise AGAINST anyone lobbying the Trump admin and the DOJ to Pardon Ghislaine Maxwell,” Loomer said Monday evening. “Do not do it.”

“I repeat. Do not do it,” she continued. “There will be no coming back from that.”

“I repeat again. For the love of God,” she wrote, spacing each of the following words on their own line: “Do,” “Not,” “Do,” “It.”

Loomer ended the message by tagging Trump, Vice President Vance and Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Earlier Monday, Trump was asked whether he would consider a pardon for Maxwell and repeatedly declined to rule it out, saying instead that he needed to look into the matter further.

“You know, I haven’t heard the name in so long. I can say this, that I’d have to take a look at it. I would have to take a look. Did they reject that?” Trump said during an exchange with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.

“Well, I’ll take a look at it. I’ll speak to the DOJ,” Trump said. “I wouldn’t consider it or not consider — I don’t know anything about it. I will speak to the DOJ.”

Asked why she might deserve clemency, Trump responded that “a lot of people have asked me for pardons,” including Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was sentenced last week to four years in prison.

“But she was convicted of child sex trafficking,” Collins said.

“Yeah, I mean, I’m going to have to take a look at it,” Trump replied. “I’d have to ask DOJ. I didn’t know they rejected it. I didn’t know she was even asking for it, frankly.”

Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence after she was found guilty of conspiring with and aiding Epstein in his sexual abuse of underage girls. The Supreme Court on Monday declined to review her 2021 sex-trafficking conviction.

Loomer has been critical of Bondi’s handling of the Epstein documents and told Politico earlier this summer that a special counsel should be appointed “so that people can feel like this issue is being investigated, and perhaps take it out of [Bondi’s] hands, because I don’t think that she has been transparent or done a good job handling this issue.”

She also expressed concern that the case could threaten “to consume his presidency.”
