President Trump’s son Eric Trump announced on Tuesday that the Florida Cabinet unanimously voted to designate a $67 million plot of land to the foundation for Trump’s presidential library.

“It will be the greatest Presidential Library ever built, honoring the greatest President our Nation has ever known,” Eric Trump, who is one of the trustees of the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation, said in a post on X. 

The president’s son thanked Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and state Attorney General James Uthmeier (R), calling them “incredible partners in this endeavor.” 

The development comes exactly a week after DeSantis unveiled the plan to dedicate land in the city to the future presidential library.

The 2.63 acre parcel is currently used as a parking lot for Miami-Dade College.

“President Trump has achieved results for the American people and made a lasting impact on our nation’s history,” DeSantis said in a statement last week. “No state has better delivered the President’s agenda than the Free State of Florida, and we would be honored to house his presidential library here in his home state.”

The Sunshine State has become the center of the Republican universe, with Trump changing his voter registration from New York to Florida in 2019. The president and his allies often convene at his Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach. Additionally, Florida has moved solidly into the GOP column in voter registration. Trump won the state by 13 points in November.
