President Biden will win the North Carolina Democratic primary after running in the state unopposed, Decision Desk HQ projects. 

Biden will likely take at least most of the state’s 116 delegates available, with 76 distributed based on results in the state’s congressional districts and 40 distributed based on the statewide result. 

Although his two main but still relatively minor primary opponents, Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) and Marianne Williamson, were not on the ballot, voters could still back an “uncommitted” option to not back Biden in the race. 

An organized uncommitted campaign occurred ahead of the Michigan Democratic primary last week over opposition to the Biden administration’s handling of the war between Israel and Hamas. 

The effort garnered about 13 percent of the vote in that state. For comparison, the uncommitted option received about 10 percent in Michigan in 2012 when then-President Obama was running essentially unopposed for reelection.
