NextImg:What Is Wrong with People? Disney Theme Parks Mired with Human Feces in Popular Ride Lines

The magic of Disneyland has recently been tarnished by a troubling and unseemly behavior from some of its guests. In an unsettling departure from the park’s wholesome image, there have been multiple incidents of visitors relieving themselves in line for the rides, rather than using the restrooms.

And, yes, “relieving themselves” does refer to pooping in line. These disgusting occurrences have sparked outrage and disbelief among other guests and employees alike, who have taken to the internet to express their dismay as reported by SFGate.

Visitors to the Disney World subreddit have been particularly vocal, recounting experiences of witnessing such acts in plain view. One person described their shock at seeing a child defecate on the ground in the line for the Rise of the Resistance ride, a story that was verified by a worker who claimed to have witnessed this type of incident not just once but three times in a single day.

The Flight of Passage attraction has been similarly afflicted, with so many instances of improper bathroom behavior that employees have grimly nicknamed a section of its queue “the poop hall.”

Despite efforts to curb this behavior, including the installation of a camera in the problematic area, the issue persists. One exasperated former employee recalls the trauma of dealing with numerous similar situations during their tenure at the ride.

Ken Pellman and Lynn Barron, former Disneyland custodians, have chronicled this distasteful topic in their book “Cleaning the Kingdom: Insider Tales of Keeping Walt’s Dream Spotless.”

They discuss what is internally referred to as a “Human Code H”—a code that signals a need for immediate clean-up due to human waste. Interestingly, this term has its origins in a code used for cleaning up after the horses on Main Street and has now, regrettably, been expanded to include human messes.

One of the more shocking stories from their book describes an incident at the Indiana Jones Adventure ride where a visitor, not realizing there was a restroom close by, defecated in the control room.

Such an act poses significant challenges for the staff, who are tasked with keeping the park clean and must respond quickly to such emergencies.

Disneyland does provide some solutions for guests caught short. For example, popular rides with notoriously long queues, like Flight of Passage, have bathrooms available partway through the line.

The park encourages guests to seek out a cast member for directions to the nearest restroom, reassuring them that they can re-enter the queue where they left off once they return.

These incidents stand in stark contrast to Disney’s efforts to maintain a family-friendly atmosphere and put an additional strain on the maintenance staff, whose job is to keep the park in pristine condition.

The company, known for its attention to detail and customer experience, encourages visitors to behave respectfully and maintain the cleanliness and enjoyment of the park for everyone.

This troubling trend serves as a reminder that even in a place designed for escapism and joy, common decency and respect for shared spaces are essential.

At what point would anyone decide the attraction is worth actually pooping in line, exposing themselves, making a mess for someone else to clean up, disturbing other members in line and potentially creating a health hazard? People in this world have really sunk far.
