NextImg:WH in Full Damage Control Mode After Kamala Harris States ‘Reducing Population’ is Critical for 'Climate Change'

In a recent controversial statement that has sparked debates nationwide, Vice President Kamala Harris implied that a reduction in population could be an effective strategy in combating climate change. This came amid a drive by the Biden administration to prioritize investments in clean energy and electric vehicles.

Vice President Harris was quoted as saying, “When we invest in clean energy and electric vehicles and reduce population, more of our children can breathe clean air and drink clean water.”

The White House was quick to intervene, issuing a “correction” to the transcript of the speech. The statement issued insisted that Harris had intended to say “pollution,” not “population.”

However, the Vice President herself did not provide a verbal correction during her address.

This incident echoes a long-standing trend among Democrats to advocate vigorously for climate change action. Notably, they have been accused of causing undue alarm, suggesting severe repercussions such as the Earth being engulfed by a black hole unless drastic changes are made. They have promoted outlandish climate change counter measures like giving up meat consumption and gas-powered vehicles.

Do you think Harris' statement was actually the truth?

Senator Bernie Sanders, a prominent progressive, previously responded affirmatively to a question from a school teacher in 2019. The educator had asked if it was feasible to tackle global warming considering “the world’s population had doubled in the past 50 years.”

Sanders, without hesitation, had responded, “Absolutely, yes.”

During the speech, Harris asserted the urgent need for action, stating that the “clock is not only ticking, it is banging.” She emphasized, “We must act.”

Nevertheless, a study published in 2022 suggested that the Democrats’ persistent warnings about global warming might be somewhat overstated.

The study stated, “We need to remind ourselves that addressing climate change is not an end in itself, and that climate change is not the only problem that the world is facing.” It further argued for the improvement of human well-being in the 21st century while doing our utmost to safeguard the environment.

This evolving conversation on climate change and it mitigation strategies continue to be a driving force in the Biden administration, albeit not without controversy.

The Biden administration has been going after fossil fuel emissions at breakneck speed furiously regulating power plants, gas stoves, air conditioners, pizza ovens, coal, gasoline powered vehicles and natural gas. However, it is widely known and accepted that the technology for a world to operate on electricity is just not there.

It begs the question. Did Harris misspeak on population control or was it really the truth that just slipped out?
