In a shocking crime caught on camera, a group of masked robbers in Los Angeles, California carried out a daring daylight robbery by intentionally crashing their minivan into another car and then robbing the driver.
This dramatic episode unfolded around 1:30 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of the Santa Monica Freeway, also known as I-10, just west of Arlington Avenue, as reported by Fox News.
Another motorist captured the entire event on video. He can be heard saying, “Let me catch up” as he tried to speed toward the two cars involved in the high-speed chase.
Despite his efforts, the cars were too fast, and he couldn’t keep up. The Dodge Grand Caravan, driven by the assailants, rammed the black Alfa Romeo onto the shoulder of the freeway, causing significant damage.
Seconds after the collision, four men dressed in ski masks and hoodies emerged from the Dodge minivan. They approached the Alfa Romeo, whose driver was kneeling on the ground, hands raised, facing the passing cars.
The attackers hurriedly searched through his car and popped open its heavily damaged trunk. The driver’s side back window and a tire of the Alfa Romeo were completely blown out.
Notably, another man in a red Ford Mustang, who was also struck during this chaos, captured additional footage on his cellphone.

Onlookers slowed down their vehicles to witness the astonishing event. Initially, witnesses who called 911 described the robbers as armed with guns.
However, California Highway Patrol Officer Roberto Gomez clarified later, stating, “Upon further investigation, we learned they were carrying hammers and crowbars.”
Officer Gomez described the incident as a “vehicular assault and armed robbery,” but refrained from revealing whether the assailants got away with any valuables or providing details about the victim, citing ongoing investigations.
The entire crime took roughly 40 seconds from start to finish. After their quick rampage, the attackers fled the scene in a white Chevrolet Malibu with dark-tinted windows. Another driver recording the event noted, “That fool took the exit!” as he saw the robbers speed away.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to this horrible crime to contact the California Highway Patrol Southern Division Major Crimes Unit at 323-644-9550.
This shocking incident not only challenges the perception of safety as one drives down the freeway, but also poses pressing questions about the audacity of criminals willing to commit such acts in broad daylight.
It would seem criminals are getting bolder by the day.
