In the wake of former Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s dismissal, Pentagon officials have inappropriately expressed their satisfaction with the network’s decision.
Throughout his tenure, Carlson frequently criticized President Joe Biden’s military policies for emphasizing progressive initiatives rather than ensuring the U.S. military remained the world’s most lethal fighting force.
A senior Department of Defense (DOD) official told POLITICO that the country is better off without Carlson’s nightly critiques of the military before large audiences.
The official accused Carlson of making a mockery of the free press and selectively using DOD policies to undermine the institution. Another DOD official simply stated, “Good riddance.”
In response to a request for comment from POLITICO regarding the Pentagon’s reaction to his departure, Carlson texted, “Ha! I’m sure.”
Fox News’ decision to part ways with Carlson on Monday sent shockwaves throughout the media landscape.

In a statement, Fox News announced that they had mutually agreed to part ways with Carlson, thanking him for his contributions as both a host and a contributor.
The statement revealed that Carlson’s last program aired on April 21 and that an interim show, Fox News Tonight, would feature rotating Fox News personalities until a new host is named.
The Wall Street Journal, owned by the Murdoch family through its parent company News Corp., reported that Carlson’s open disdain for some Fox News executives led to his departure from the network.
According to the report, as Fox News prepared to go to trial with Dominion, the company’s lawyers informed Carlson that they had persuaded the court to redact from legal documents an instance in which he called a senior Fox News executive a derogatory term in a private message.
Carlson allegedly told colleagues that he wanted the world to know what he said about the executive.
The report suggests that Carlson’s combative attitude towards Fox News management and other colleagues ultimately caught up with him.
Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch, son of Rupert Murdoch, and Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott made the decision to let Carlson go from the network.
The report indicates that Carlson’s “disregard for management and colleagues” played a significant role in the decision, with concerns that if the redacted material in the Dominion court documents were to be revealed, it could cause further embarrassment for the company.
