In a turn of events that might evoke a wry smile from those who closely follow political machinations, Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) recently issued a sweeping condemnation of Republicans’ readiness to resort to impeaching Joe Biden.
“The Republican desire to impeach someone — anyone, no matter if there’s any evidence — just shows how they have descended into chaos,” Schiff commented.
Schiff’s words ring hollow, however, to those with a clear memory of his zealous pursuit of former President Donald Trump, not once but twice.
Schiff led the charge in the infamous “Russian collusion” narrative, claiming in public that there was “more than circumstantial evidence” of Trump’s collusion with Russia.

However, under oath, Schiff’s statements painted a vastly different picture. His narrative crumbled, revealing it as a hoax perpetrated on the American public.
His quest to impeach didn’t end there. Schiff doubled down and steered not one, but two impeachments against President Trump.
The first impeachment, based on a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, ended with Trump’s acquittal by the Senate in February 2020.
The second impeachment, alleging incitement of an insurrection following the Capitol Hill riot, also concluded with an acquittal in the Senate, despite Trump no longer holding office.
Despite these failed attempts, Schiff continues to be an advocate for using impeachment as a political tool.
His recent criticism of Republicans’ willingness to employ impeachment appears as an example of political hypocrisy.
Republicans, witnessing Schiff’s attacks on their impeachment desires, may view this as a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black.
They could argue that Schiff’s statement reflects not on the GOP but rather mirrors his own history of pursuing impeachment, irrespective of the evidential foundation.
In the politically charged climate of Washington D.C., Schiff’s words serve as a stark reminder that both sides of the aisle should engage in self-reflection before casting stones.
