Renowned actor Sandra Bullock’s longtime partner, Bryan Randall, passed away at the age of 57 on August 5, following a courageous three-year battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), as confirmed by his family to Fox News Digital.
In a heartfelt statement, his family expressed their grief, stating, “It is with great sadness that we share that on August 5th Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a 3 year battle with ALS.”
The family further revealed that Bryan had chosen to keep his journey with ALS private, and they respected his wishes throughout the challenging period.
“We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours,” the statement said.
“At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan,” the family continued.
They affectionately signed off as “His Loving Family.”
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family suggested honoring Bryan’s memory through contributions to ALS Research and Massachusetts General Hospital, reflecting the importance of medical advancements in addressing debilitating diseases like ALS.
Bryan Randall, a talented photographer, and Sandra Bullock began dating in 2015. Their relationship had a serendipitous start when he was hired to capture moments during the birthday celebration of Bullock’s son, Louis, in January of that year.
In December 2021, Bullock appeared as a guest on “Red Table Talk,” where she briefly touched upon her relationship with Bryan.
The actress expressed her deep affection, stating, “I found the love of my life. We share two beautiful children – three children, [Randall’s] older daughter. It’s the best thing ever.”
Bullock has two children of her own, Louis aged 13, and Laila aged 10, while Bryan has a daughter named Skylar from a previous relationship.
The discussion also delved into the topic of marriage, with Bullock sharing her perspective.
“I don’t want to say do it like I do it, but I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother,” she said, addressing the topic of marriage. “I don’t need to be told to be ever present in the hardest of times. I don’t need to be told to weather a storm with a good man.”
