US Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), the vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, has drawn attention to the far-reaching implications of claims about Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) and the possibility of a governmental cover-up, should these allegations prove factual.
Describing such a scenario as the “biggest story in human history,” Rubio underscored the seriousness of the matter in a recent discussion.
This conversation unfolded after the retired intelligence and military officer, David Grusch, claimed craft of non-human origin being confiscated and intentionally hidden from Congressional oversight.
In an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Rubio laid out the allegations as reported by individuals with top-level security clearances, both current and former.
He shared, “We have people that have very high clearances both today and in the past, who did really important work for our government or continue to do important work for the government, who have come forward with some claims about the U.S. having in the past recovered exotic materials and then reversed engineered those materials to make advances in our own defenses and technologies.”
Rubio, who was questioned by Hannity about the legitimacy of the UFO claims, expressed his uncertainty regarding the truth of these claims.

He hypothesized that “one of two things” is occurring.
“Either they’re telling the truth, and that is something that obviously would be the biggest story in human history, or we have people in really important positions in government who are crazy, and who are out there making up stories, and who are still in positions of importance,” Rubio said. “Either one is a big problem. So we’ve got to figure out which one of these two it is, because the second one in particular would be very troubling.”
The Department of Defense’s response to these allegations has been to avoid answering direct questions by referring reporters to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO).
This team, charged with investigating UFO phenomena, has stated it has “not discovered any verifiable information to substantiate claims that any programs regarding the possession or reverse-engineering of any extraterrestrial materials have existed in the past or exist currently.”
Despite this response, Rubio disclosed to News Nation that various individuals, including those from government sectors, have approached Congress with UFO claims.
Some of these individuals claim to have “first-hand knowledge or first-hand claims of certain things.”
Prospective legislation and a potential House hearing, slated for later this month, could yield more revelations.
Rubio emphasized to Hannity that all allegations, especially those from reputable individuals who continue to serve the country, are taken seriously, as mandated by law.
“All we know are the claims that people have made. These are credible people that have done and continue to do important work for the country. And by law, we’re required, when they come forward as whistleblowers, to take their claims seriously and to investigate them,” Rubio said. “But we just don’t know. That’s the answer.”
