To say Joe Biden’s election bid is in trouble is an understatement, especially when losing support from liberal Hollywood elites.
Renowned, Oscar winning, filmmaker Oliver Stone has expressed his profound regret for casting his vote for President Joe Biden, with growing concerns that the president’s policies may plunge America into the next global conflict.
Stone, who gained worldwide acclaim for his thought-provoking documentaries such as “Ukraine on Fire,” aired his views on a recent episode of Russell Brand’s “Stay Free” podcast on Rumble.
Stone’s documentary, “Ukraine on Fire,” investigates the 2014 ousting of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, painting it as a U.S. government-aided “coup d’état.”
In a comprehensive discussion about the film, Stone stressed the significance of understanding the actual reasons behind the ongoing conflict in Eastern Europe.
“You have to look at the reasons for this war, and whenever you do, the Americans like to simplify and say it’s a question of a Russian invasion of Ukraine,” he stated.
He argued that such simplification fails to consider the complex history of the region, and that his documentary “explains the origins of this war in the coup d’état of 2014 which was sponsored and supported thoroughly by the United States.”
“It was a very deep plan to penetrate the Russian Federation,” Stone added.
In his critique of American foreign policy, Stone lambasted the “Neoconservative movement who started the war in Iraq” for remaining “deep inside our government.”
He mentioned figures such as Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
He described President Biden as an “old Cold Warrior” with a deep-seated hostility towards the Russian Federation, confusing it with the defunct Soviet Union.
Stone expressed concern that Biden’s policies may lead the nation on a “suicidal” course, that could lead to a “potential World War 3.”
He lamented his vote for Biden, saying, “If we don’t stop this, what Biden is doing, this guy is – I voted for him – I made a mistake.”
“I was thinking he was an old man now that he would calm down, that he would be more mellow and so-forth, I didn’t see that at all,” he continued. “I see a man who maybe is not in charge of his own administration. Who knows?”
Stone further cautioned that the U.S. seems to be moving towards a reckless confrontation with a country that will not yield.
Stone warned, “it seems that he’s dragging us stupidly into a confrontation with a power that is not going to give. This is their borders. This is their world. This is NATO going into Ukraine. This is a whole other story.”
He emphasized that NATO’s actions in Ukraine are significant, potentially leading to a conflict akin to the one that ignited the Balkans in World War 1.
Expressing his deep concern over the ethnic complexities of the conflict, Stone indicated that the U.S. is siding with “rabid anti-Russian people” and fighting against ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine.
The mainstream media, according to Stone, ignores the simple demand of these ethnic Russians for autonomy since 2014.
Stone ended by suggesting that a possible agreement for autonomy in eastern Ukraine was almost achieved at the war’s outset in 2022, only for America to block it.
He claimed that “they didn’t want the deal, they didn’t want the peace treaty. They don’t want to give autonomy to Donetsk and Lugansk. Now look where we are. It’s gotten worse, and it’s going to get worse.”
It is pretty significant that a one time influential supporter of Biden is jumping ship over foreign policy. It is even more fascinating that Stone that it doesn’t appear Biden is “in charge of his own administration.”
We’ll see if other defectors start to emerge in the coming weeks.
