Rep. Adam Schiff has raised over $8.1 million in donations during this year’s second quarter in his bid to replace Diane Feinstein in the Senate.
This latest financial windfall boosts his total campaign earnings to an impressive $29.5 million, as reported by Politico, and further consolidates his lead over Democratic rivals, Reps. Katie Porter and Barbara Lee.
During the first quarter, Schiff pulled ahead with $6.5 million, far outpacing Porter’s $4.5 million and Lee’s barely over $1 million.
The gap has widened in the second quarter, as Schiff’s war chest has continued to grow.
This trend mirrors the polls, where Schiff has maintained a consistent advantage.
Political analysts speculate that Schiff’s ongoing conflicts with House Republicans and his publicly combative stance against former president Donald Trump have played a significant role in his current success in the far left leaning state.

Schiff’s opposition to Trump’s policies and the former president’s potential 2024 run appear to be driving support among Democratic voters.
Last month, Schiff was censured by House Republicans for his staunch and vocal support of the unfounded Trump-Russia collusion narrative while serving as chair of the House Intelligence Committee.
Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna criticized Schiff’s conduct, stating, “Mr. Schiff exploited his position as chair of the Intel Committee,” as reported by NPR.
Schiff has garnered endorsements from former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and over half of California’s Democratic congressional delegation, further boosting his standing in the race.
Schiff’s campaign manager Brad Elkins stated, “It’s still very early, and while the polls will shift, Adam continues to lead in every metric that is critical to running an effective campaign.”
According to an Emerson College poll, Schiff enjoys strong support among voters aged 65 and older, with 27% identifying him as their preferred candidate.
However, the same poll indicated a generational divide, with Porter emerging as the more popular choice among younger voters.
Around 16.8% of voters aged 18 to 34 prefer Porter, compared to 6.7% for Schiff.
Despite Schiff’s growing momentum, the race remains fluid, with approximately 50% of all voters and 34% of registered Democrats in the state still undecided.
As the race progresses, Schiff’s ability to maintain his lead and appeal to a broader demographic will be key in his race to secure Feinstein’s Senate seat.
