NextImg:New Survey Reveals Stunning High School Senior Political Ideologies: Boys Are Two Times as Likely to Be Conservative than Liberal

According to a recent University of Michigan survey, there are significant differences in political ideology between boys and girls in their senior year of high school.

The Monitoring the Future survey, known for its scholarly approach since the 1970s, has observed a growing divide between conservative and liberal identifications among these students.

The study found that boys in twelfth grade are now nearly twice as likely to identify as conservative (23%) compared to liberal (13%), indicating a notable shift towards conservatism.

This represents the highest percentage of conservative-identifying boys since the early 1990s, though the figures have typically hovered around the 20% mark, with a slight dip between 1998 and 2002.

In contrast, the number of boys identifying as liberal has experienced a steady decline from 25% since the survey’s inception in 1975.

Jean Twenge, an author and psychology professor at San Diego State University, further highlights the contrast between the sexes in her book “Generations.” Twenge’s chart reveals that approximately 65% of boys identify as conservative, while only around 31% of girls do.

The trend of increasing liberalism among high school senior girls is particularly noteworthy, with over 30% identifying as liberal in recent years. In contrast, conservative-identifying girls make up only around 12% of the surveyed population.

Several students shared their perspectives on these trends with the Blaze. Ethan, a 21-year-old George Washington University student, attributed the surge in conservative identification among boys to the influence of video games and their virtual communities. He believes former President Trump effectively connected with this demographic’s energy.

On the other hand, Tyler, a student at American University, explained that attending a highly liberal college led him to become more liberal despite his conservative high school background.

The survey reflects a widening gap in political ideology among high school seniors, with boys increasingly gravitating towards conservatism and girls leaning towards liberalism. It is concerning that more young women are being lulled into woke thinking.
