NextImg:Netflix’s Woke ‘Queen Cleopatra’ Appears to Have Worst Audience Score in TV History

Netflix’s recently released “docudrama” titled Queen Cleopatra seems to have achieved a dubious distinction: recording the worst audience score in television history.

Forbes magazine reports that this contentious production hasn’t merely posted the lowest debut audience score in Netflix’s history, but has also managed to achieve virtually the lowest audience score feasible on Rotten Tomatoes — a measly one percent.

Not ten percent, but one percent, although Forbes later reported a slight uptick, with the score hobbling up to a still astonishingly low two percent.

This is an unprecedented nadir in the annals of television ratings.

Even with the storm of controversy that the docudrama has stirred up, Forbes noted that an audience score of one percent is nearly “mathematically impossible,” given that audiences typically rate shows higher than critics, even those of questionable quality.

Part of the African Queens series, the documentary delves into the ascension and decline of Egypt’s final pharaoh and was unleashed to the public on May 10.

The contentious point of the production is its claim that Cleopatra was potentially a black woman.

Several commentators within the show contend that Cleopatra may have had African, rather than Greek, ancestry, as previously reported by Breitbart News.

Will the leftists who run Hollywood ever learn?

This proposition has been challenged by various voices, with The Daily Caller documenting some of the dissent.

Kathryn Bard, a professor of archaeology and classical studies at Boston University, stated (as quoted by Newsweek), “Cleopatra VII was white—of Macedonian descent, as were all of the Ptolemy rulers, who lived in Egypt.”

Gerald Kadish, teaching professor emeritus of history and Near Eastern studies at Binghamton University, reiterated the established understanding of Cleopatra’s lineage, asserting, “We know who her father was.”

It seems that Netflix’s endeavor to present a ‘woke’ portrayal of history has come at a steep price.

The unprecedentedly low audience ratings serve as a stark reminder that viewers value historical accuracy and integrity over pandering to contemporary ideological trends.

The backlash against the docudrama suggests that audiences are not willing to accept historical revisionism for the sake of political correctness.
