Muslim Democrats Issue Ultimatum to Biden: Force Israel to Ceasefire by 5 PM or Face Political Wrath

The National Muslim Democratic Council, a group of Democratic leaders and activists, has laid down an ultimatum to President Joe Biden: Push Israel to stop fighting with Hamas by Tuesday at 5 p.m. ET, or face a mobilized effort to unseat him in the 2024 elections.
“It has become evident that our voices are being ignored, but our votes will not be. Simply put, as Gaza turns red, so could crucial battleground states,”” the council stated in a letter to the White House. This warning points to a clear problem within the Democratic Party over supporting Israel verses their typical pro-Palestine stance.
“Your administration’s unconditional support, encompassing funding and armaments, has played a significant role in perpetuating the violence that is causing civilian casualties and has eroded trust in voters who previously put their faith in you,” the council wrote.
“We will mobilize increased voter turnout to make our voices heard,” the council stated. The council is threatening to use its influence in key states where Muslim voters can make a difference, to oppose Biden.
“We emphasize the significance of Michigan, Ohio, Iowa, Florida, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee, where many of our voters reside,” the group also said.
The council is unhappy with Biden’s support for Israel, saying it plays a “significant role in perpetuating the violence” in the ongoing conflict.
According to the group, this stance not only adds fuel to the fire in the Middle East but also risks losing the trust of voters who once supported Biden.
According to the 2020 U.S. Religion Census conducted by the Association of Statisticians of American Religious Bodies, more than 4.4 million Muslims live in the U.S., making up 1.3% of the population.

The council’s letter only refers to Israel one time, stating: “We pledge to mobilize Muslim, Arab, and allied voters to withhold endorsement, support, or votes for any candidate who did not advocate for a ceasefire and endorse the Israeli offensive against the Palestinian people.”
“Your administration’s unconditional support, encompassing funding and armaments, has played a significant role in perpetuating the violence that is causing civilian casualties and has eroded trust in voters who previously put their faith in you,” the council wrote.
Interestingly, the council’s letter talks a lot about American politics but mentions Israel only once. The group vows to withdraw support from any candidate who doesn’t push for a ceasefire and criticize Israel’s actions against the Palestinians.
What’s missing from the letter is any mention of Hamas, the group that governs Gaza and is labeled a terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department. Hamas started this recent conflict by invading Israel in early October, killing over 1,400 people and taking more than 200 hostages into Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already said a ceasefire isn’t happening anytime soon. “Calls for a ceasefire are calls for Israel to surrender to Hamas, to surrender to terrorism, to surrender to barbarism. That will not happen,” he stated.
The council’s ultimatum puts Biden in a tough spot and shows a growing divide within the Democratic Party. It also suggests the council supports Hamas terrorists and their mission to eliminate the Jewish people in Israel, and one could argue, the world.
Whatever their actual stance, the council is clearly attempting to use their influence in swaying Muslims and their supporters to ditch anyone supporting Israel.
It’s a serious warning sign for Biden, hinting that unity in the Democratic Party might not be as solid as once thought. Whether or not this move by the National Muslim Democratic Council will actually change U.S. policy or the political climate leading up to 2024 remains to be seen.
