On Thursday evening, country music sensation Jason Aldean, accompanied by his wife Brittany Aldean and their youngest children, Memphis and Navy, marked the grand opening of his latest venture, Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar, in downtown Gatlinburg.

The event was graced by the presence of Gatlinburg’s Mayor, the honorable Mike Werner, who joined Aldean for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Spanning over 21,000 sq. feet and featuring three levels, the establishment is expected to create 125 new job opportunities in the area.

The restaurant floor houses the renowned John Deere 4020 Tractor Bar, a tribute to Aldean’s iconic song “Big Green Tractor,” as well as a rooftop deck offering breathtaking views of the smoky mountains.

Embracing Aldean’s illustrious career, each level showcases photographs and memorabilia from his journey, alongside a breakfast diner and a boutique gift shop.

Following the ribbon-cutting event, the country star surprised attendees with a 35-minute set, treating the audience to several of his chart-topping singles, including his current Billboard Hot 100 No.1, “Try That In A Small Town.”

The song’s music video, released in July, stirred controversy due to its depiction of urban rioters attacking police and burning the American flag, leading some critics to label it as “racist” and “pro-lynching.”

As a consequence, Country Music Television (CMT) removed the video from its lineup.

Jason Aldean addressed these allegations on X, previously known as Twitter, stating, “These references are not only meritless, but dangerous. There is not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it- and there isn’t a single video clip that isn’t real news footage -and while I can try and respect others to have their own interpretation of a song with music- this one goes too far.”

During his live performance on Thursday, Aldean defended the song, declaring, “This song says exactly the way I feel right now,” acknowledging that the release of the music video sparked controversy, “all hell broke loose.”

Amidst the controversy, Aldean’s fans have shown unwavering support for the song, and fellow country artists, rock artists, comedians and politicians have voiced their solidarity with the singer.

Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar is now open to the public, offering a unique dining and entertainment experience, complemented by the artist’s indomitable spirit and a panoramic view of the majestic smoky mountains.
