“Sound of Freedom,” featuring the remarkable talent of Jim Caviezel, is on track to cross the $40 million threshold in box office returns, according to recent estimates shared by Angel Studios.
The film bravely explores the grim realities of human and child sex trafficking on a global scale.
It debuted on the 4th of July, quickly securing a premier position in the box office. The dynamism it carried has remained steady, as revealed in a press release from Angel Studios.
Brandon Purdie, Angel Studios’ Head of Theatrical Distribution, expressed surprise and satisfaction at the film’s reception in Sunday’s press release.
“Just like our July 4th numbers, the current figures are surpassing our forecasts. ‘Sound of Freedom’ has resonated powerfully with viewers. We receive reports nationwide of theaters brimming with audiences, tickets sold out, and spontaneous standing ovations. The film’s impact, propelled by impressive word-of-mouth, has made it a must-watch,” said Purdie.
Purdie extended his gratitude to major cinemas, including AMC, Cinemark, Regal, and their dedicated staff members.

“Their willingness to accommodate the overwhelming demand for ‘Sound of Freedom’ in the busiest movie season of the year is commendable,” Purdie stated.
As per the press release, “Sound of Freedom” is now being shown in 2,850 theaters.
It is projected to rake in close to $20 million for the weekend, pushing the overall box office tally towards the $40 million mark.
Box Office Mojo echoes these numbers, listing the domestic earnings for “Sound of Freedom” at just above $18 million for the weekend and total earnings slightly exceeding $40 million.
Ratings aggregator Rotten Tomatoes also reflects high ratings, with the film earning a solid 76% from critics and an almost perfect 99% audience score.
The plot of “Sound of Freedom” revolves around the gut-wrenching true account of a federal agent who, having rescued a trafficked boy, resigns from his role to save the boy’s sister ensnared in the dark world of trafficking in South America.
