Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has proposed a potential trial date of March 4, 2024, for the Georgia election case involving former President Donald Trump and 18 other defendants.

This proposal is outlined in court filings obtained by Fox News. The district attorney also suggests arraignments for the defendants occur during the week of September 5. It’s important to note that these dates are subject to approval by a judge and are not yet finalized.

The suggested trial date falls on Super Tuesday, a significant day during the primary cycle with numerous delegates at stake.

Approximately 14 primaries are scheduled across the country, making it a crucial day for presidential candidates.

Trump and the other defendants were indicted by a Fulton County grand jury for allegedly engaging in various crimes as part of a scheme to maintain Trump’s hold on power following his 2020 election loss to Democrat Joe Biden.

This proposed trial adds to Trump’s legal challenges.

He is already slated to face trials in New York, where he faces state charges related to falsifying business records, and in a federal case alleging he unlawfully retained classified documents.

Additionally, a federal case brought by special counsel Jack Smith seeks a January 2 trial date regarding Trump’s actions to overturn the election.
