In a surprising move, tech mogul Elon Musk has reached out to controversial former CNN anchor Don Lemon with a proposition to reestablish his career on Twitter.
The invitation comes on the heels of Musk extending a similar offer to ex-Fox News host Tucker Carlson, suggesting a potentially transformative moment for the future of news media.
Musk, who took over Twitter’s reins, responded to a fiery tweet from Lemon, encouraging him to explore the possibility of hosting a show on the social media platform.
“Have you considered doing your show on this platform? Maybe worth a try,” Musk tweeted. He also highlighted the broader audience reach that Twitter can offer.
The offer to Lemon, who made headlines last month following a series of missteps on “CNN This Morning,” including a controversial comment directed at GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley, has not yet elicited a response.
The ex-anchor had expressed shock at his abrupt termination from CNN, stating he had received “no indication” of his impending dismissal.
This potentially career-rejuvenating offer from Musk arrives amid recent revelations that Carlson, another anchor released from his network on the same day as Lemon, plans to launch a show on Twitter.
Carlson, a right-leaning commentator, cited a lack of platforms allowing free speech as his motivation for this transition.

The development of these invitations came after a significant legal settlement involving Fox News.
The network agreed to a whopping $787.5 million payout to Dominion Voting Systems to settle a defamation lawsuit over false claims about the 2020 presidential election.
Carlson’s dismissal from Fox News occurred a week after this settlement was announced.
