Democratic lawmaker, Eric Swalwell, had his own agenda during a a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing on Wednesday, failing to discredit a whistleblower testifying about the US government involvement in the child trafficking of migrants crossing the border illegally.
The hearing, titled “The Biden Border Crisis: Exploitation of Unaccompanied Alien Children,” was held to address a report suggesting that the U.S. government is knowingly placing unaccompanied child migrants crossing the southern border with unvetted sponsors.
Rep. Swalwell, of California, made every effort to link the witness, Sheena Rodriguez, to the January 6 Capitol riot based on a Twitter post from her account rather than discuss the very horrifying and serious problem of child trafficking happening at the border.
Rodriguez, president of the Alliance for a Safe Texas, was asked by Swalwell if she was at the Capitol on Jan. 6.
Rodriguez replied that she was not inside the Capitol, but “on the premises outside of the reflection pond waving a flag.”
Swalwell proceeded to display a photo from Rodriguez’s Twitter account, which she confirmed was taken outside the Capitol on Jan. 6. Rodriguez also stated she did not recall crossing any police barricades or witnessing any violence that day.
“I did see a red flare go up. I don’t remember the time, but that was about it,” Rodriguez said.
“I didn’t encounter any violence, as matter of fact it was quite peaceful. I was involved in some prayers the day before,” she continued.
Swalwell pressed Rodriguez on whether she agreed that violence against police officers occurred on Jan. 6, to which Rodriguez questioned the relevance of the inquiry to the hearing’s focus on child exploitation.
“You agree, though, that violence against police officers took place that day?,” Swalwell asked.
“Sir, I’m not quite sure what this has to do with the exploitation of children, like the young girl who wore this band,” Rodriguez said as she held up her arm.

Swalwell justified his line of questioning by stating that every witness’s credibility, including Democratic ones, should be scrutinized.
“You publicly tweeted this. The majority knew that you were on the Capitol grounds on Jan. 6, and so your credibility is just as every witness, including the Democratic witness, is fair grounds for questioning, and so I guess my question is, you were aware, you are aware that violence took place at the Capitol on Jan. 6?,”
“That’s what the media says,” Rodriguez said.
When asked if she believed media reports about the Capitol attack, Rodriguez said she could only rely on her personal experience.
She then pushed back at Swalwell. “I am really not sure what relevance … we have children that are being raped because of our taxpayer dollars,” Rodriguez said.
Once again a committee meeting in the House turned into a circus. Swalwell, who had relations with a Chinese spy while on the House Intelligence Committee and was ultimately removed, decided to protect the Biden Administration from very damaging testimony and focused on perpetuating the ridiculous January 6 Committee agenda of demonizing former President Trump and anyone who supports him.
Disgraceful.
