Business tycoon Elon Musk, never one to shy away from expressing his views, recently shared a video of himself handling a firearm, reflecting his support for the Second Amendment — a fundamental constitutional right.
Elon remarked, , “I have an arsenal of weapons, most of which I bought in California before they changed the law to make it impossible to do so.” Additionally, he shared a bit about his experience with firearms, noting, “I’ve hip-fired a 50 cal while walking. Might have the video somewhere.”
He then showcased this moment, posting “Hip-firing my Barrett 50 cal” He later shared that very clip on X, where viewers could see Musk confidently operating the Barrett 50 cal, both in slow motion and at regular speed.
The National Rifle Association (NRA) gave Musk a nod of approval by sharing his post and adding their own patriotic touch with “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!” and an American flag emoji.

This isn’t a first-time reveal for Musk on the gun rights issue. He once told CNBC, “I strongly believe that the right to bear arms is an important safeguard against potential tyranny of government. Historically, maintaining their power over the people is why those in power did not allow public ownership of guns.”
But Musk’s concerns aren’t just about individual rights. On a recent trip to Eagle Pass, Texas, he didn’t hesitate to weigh in on the immigration debate, wondering aloud, Why do so many American politicians from both parties care 100 times more about the Ukraine border than the USA border?”
Yet, Musk isn’t calling for closing the doors. He believes in merit, asserting, “Illegal immigration needs to stop, but I’m super in favor of greatly expanding and simplifying legal immigration. Anyone who proves themselves to be hard-working, talented and honest should be allowed to become an American. Period.”
It’s conversations like these, grounded in genuine concern and devoid of political double-speak, that resonate with many Americans.
