Veteran country music star Travis Tritt announced on Thursday that he will no longer include Anheuser-Busch products in his touring hospitality rider, in response to the brewer signing a lucrative endorsement deal with transgender activist, Joe Biden supporter, and TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney.
Tritt said, “I know many other artists who are doing the same.” The singer made his decision public through social media.
Anheuser-Busch’s endorsement deal with Mulvaney involves promoting Bud Light beer.
The move by Tritt comes after Nike also announced its endorsement of Mulvaney.
Breitbart News reported that Oli London shared Mulvaney’s recent video, revealing the latter’s deal to sell Nike’s women’s sports bra and leggings.
Several other entertainers have demonstrated their disapproval of Anheuser-Busch’s choice of public endorsers.
Kid Rock posted a video of himself shooting up cases of Bud Light as an apparent response to the beer brand’s hiring of Mulvaney as its new public face.
In the video, Kid Rock stated, “F*** Bud Light. And f*** Anheuser-Busch. Have a terrific day,” while flashing his middle finger.
Anheuser-Busch has teamed up with male-to-female transgender Mulvaney to promote the beer brand on social media.
The company has even placed Mulvaney’s face on Bud Light cans to commemorate Mulvaney’s “365 days” of being a “girl.”
Mulvaney has posted at least two videos on social media to promote the product.
Travis Tritt’s decision to remove Anheuser-Busch products from his tour hospitality rider reflects the growing divide between conservative-leaning individuals and companies embracing progressive public figures for endorsements.
This development highlights the increasing impact of cultural and political issues on consumer choices and the entertainment industry.
With many other artists reportedly taking similar actions as Tritt, it remains to be seen how Anheuser-Busch and other companies will respond to such backlash and whether they will reevaluate their marketing strategies in the future.
