The American singer-songwriter expressed his surprise and gratitude for reaching this milestone, confessing to People Magazine, “I never thought I’d get here.”

Unsurprisingly, Nelson himself joined the festivities, performing on stage for his ardent followers.

He confessed his love for live performance and the reciprocal energy it provides, saying, “I get a lot of fun out of playing for an audience. There’s a great energy exchange there. It’s what keeps me going.”

Despite the special occasion, Nelson maintained a modest perspective on his nonagenarian status, stating, “This ain’t nothing. It’s another day.”

Born in 1933 in Abbott, Texas, Nelson’s passion for music saw him in a band by the tender age of 10. His pursuit of a professional music career led him to Nashville in 1960, where he launched his debut LP, “And Then I Wrote,” in 1962.

A prolific artist, Nelson’s career spans seven decades during which he has released an impressive 73 solo albums and worked on a collaborative project with the late Johnny Cash. He continues to tour actively, undeterred by his advanced age.

However, the star recently admitted that he has paused his songwriting endeavors for the time being.

In his personal life, Nelson, widely known for his long-term cannabis use, revealed that he has since given up smoking weed and drinking, a decision he believes has added days to his life.
