CNN’s Senior National Correspondent, Kyung Lah, reported a startling uptick in theft in San Francisco during a Monday broadcast of “OutFront”.

Lah personally witnessed three separate theft incidents within a single half-hour period at one Walgreens location in the city, highlighting an alarming trend that’s causing stores to resort to extraordinary measures.

In response to the spate of thefts, local stores are going to lengths such as locking up everyday items including frozen food, coffee, and lotion.

These actions, typically reserved for high-value or age-restricted goods, underscore the severity of the crime wave affecting San Francisco’s businesses.

This is insane and the out of control crime we’ve been seeing in San Francisco is quite simply the result of decades of Democratic Party governance.

Out of Control Crime in San Francisco Forces Walgreens to Implement Extreme Anti-Theft Measures

San Francisco, a city long governed by Democrat administrations, is now seeing the adverse consequences of their soft-on-crime stance with a surge in retail theft.

Will San Francisco ever recover from this?

As a result, businesses are compelled to implement extreme security measures, including padlocking refrigerator doors and chaining merchandise.

A video taken at a local Walgreens store exposes the extent of the problem, showing aisles upon aisles of products hidden behind Perspex and glass, including common items such as toothpaste and tissues.

This escalated security response provides stark evidence of the rampant theft plaguing the city’s pharmacies, with some locations resorting to chaining their refrigerator doors overnight to deter thieves.

Retail employees recount distressing scenes of thieves, seemingly undeterred by the potential consequences, entering their stores as many as 20 times a day to pilfer products, including refrigerated items like frozen pizzas and ice cream.

Yet, this issue is not confined to San Francisco alone.

Other major U.S. cities, such as New York, cities which have also long been under Democratic leadership, are grappling with similar challenges, suggesting a pattern tied to their lenient approach towards crime.

The financial toll from these frequent thefts has pushed some pharmacy chains to the brink, forcing them to exit certain areas entirely.

The sight of chained merchandise symbolizes a troubling low point, illustrating the repercussions of the current administration’s soft-on-crime policies.

While such extreme measures may temporarily stem the tide of theft, they also risk alienating legitimate customers, inconvenienced by the need to call on staff to access everyday items.

In the end, these severe security steps underscore a profound and concerning truth: Democrat’s soft-on-crime policies and anti-police rhetoric absolutely contribute to an environment where such brazen crime flourishes.

Unfortunately the out of control crime in America’s largest cities will continue unabated, and even get worse, until voters in those places finally reach their breaking point and begin to elect new leaders with different priorities.
