The image below, created by renowned political cartoonist Al Goodwyn, is a thought-provoking cartoon that compares the attitudes of left-wing politics from the 1960s to today.
On one side, we see a character from the ’60s, who looks like he’s stepped right out of a Woodstock photo.
He’s wearing a colorful shirt covered in flowers, holding a peace sign, and giving a two-fingered salute that was the era’s signature gesture for peace.
His message, “If it feels good, do it,” reflects the free-spirited optimism and quest for personal freedom that was a big part of the 1960s culture.
Fast forward to the “Now” side, and we see a complete change.
There’s a person dressed all in black, his face hidden, suggesting secrecy or maybe even something more sinister.
Instead of a peace sign, he’s carrying a computer, hinting at the modern tools of activism and possibly underhanded tactics.
His motto, “If it’s not prosecuted, steal it,” flips the ’60s slogan on its head, implying that today’s approach is all about pushing legal and moral boundaries, as long as you don’t get caught.
The artist is making a bold statement here: what once was a movement about open love and peace has, in his view, turned into something much less innocent, where the goal justifies the means, even if that includes bending the rules.
You decide, is the cartoon below an accurate depiction of the evolution of the left since the 1960s? Why or why not?

Does that about sum it up?
The left has transformed from hippies wanting peace and love to terrorists, anarchists and communists.
