Burbank Mayor Konstantine Anthony found himself at the center of a social media storm after a peculiar incident at the Santa Clarita Valley Democrats’ Drag Queen Bingo fundraiser last Saturday.
The event, initially promoted as being suitable for those aged 15 and above but with a caveat that it was “not suitable for children,” took an unexpected turn.
A video surfaced on Instagram, shared by the Wisenuts Podcast, capturing an unconventional moment. In the clip, Mayor Anthony was seen bent over a table while a drag queen gave him a spanking with a paddle.
The video garnered significant online attention, notably after it was reposted by the popular “Libs of TikTok” account.
As the story gained traction, claims emerged suggesting that the incident occurred in the presence of children, raising concerns about its appropriateness. However, Mayor Anthony swiftly addressed these allegations, asserting that there were no children in attendance at the event.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, he emphasized, “No children were in attendance, all attendees were over 21 years of age.”
In response to online chatter, Anthony even took to Instagram, posting a comment on the original video with a hint of humor, asking, “Jealous?”
The timing of this incident couldn’t be more significant, as it unfolds against the backdrop of growing concerns among California parents.

These concerns center on a new state rule that may have far-reaching implications for their parental rights. The rule in question compels judges to consider whether a parent has affirmed their child’s belief in their transgender identity during custody battles.
Nicole Pearson, a California mother of three and a member of the “Protect Kids California” group, voiced her apprehension over the policy.
She warned that if both parents are conservative and uncomfortable with affirming their child’s gender identity, they could face the grim prospect of endangering their child’s well-being in the eyes of the state. In such cases, custody could potentially be taken away from both parents, leaving the child as a ward of the state.
Pearson expressed her concerns, stating, “This is the steady assault on family and children that we’ve been seeing this legislative session and throughout the past couple of years in California.”
The California State Assembly recently passed AB 957, a move that has dealt a significant blow to parental rights advocates like Pearson. They argue that this policy might place parental custody rights in jeopardy, particularly when parents disagree with their child’s gender identification if it does not align with their biological sex.
In the midst of these developments, the conservative community in California and beyond is closely watching, emphasizing the importance of paying attention to the evolving landscape of family and parental rights in the Golden State. The implications of these policy decisions extend well beyond the borders of California.
